Whenever there is any part failure pr any critical event generated on netapp storage and autosupport enabled on that storage then netapp support ticket raised automatically and engineer will assign. If controller is under standard contract engineer assign and if controller is unders ASP contract then case closed automatically.

Our ASP partners provide level 1 support , meaning that for systems with an ASP contract, only the ASP provider can raise tickets against them, including those that would be covered by autosupport. You can ask to have it moved back from ASP to regular support if you wish, but there will likely be a cost associated with it.
