Fas2020 not booting,stuck at BMC login

Hi Guys, we have old Fas2020 in our lab.The login password was lost so i tried to go in the special boot menu to reset the password. I am connecting through a serial cable. I tried doing a power on/off several times of the netapp but it is stuck at the BMC login prompt screen. I tried running the below commands in the BMC login and below is the output. Please help..

here is the solution from the Archive:

This affects all FAS2020, FAS2040, and FAS2050 systems.

Possible causes for BIOS boot failures are:
Loose connection of NVMEM battery
Dirty shutdown >>72+ hrs (depleting the battery completely) before powering
the system back on.
Improper DIMM replacement procedure
DIMM errors related to defective DIMM
DIMM errors related to memory control circuitry

Solution

1. Run the following commands in the BMC shell:
bmc shell -> priv set advanced
bmc shell*-> system reset backup
bmc shell*-> system power cycle
This will cause a dirty shutdown of your appliance. Continue? [y/N] y

What happens if you press ^D to leave BMC shell?

It exits from the BMC Shell but does not proceed further.

and observe what promt is displayed,  system booted or on loader/cfe prompt?

Can you try to ping the main IP,

Try ssh/telnet are you getting a login prompt?

The ping to the main IP is failing. (Request timed out)

I am not able to ssh/telnet.

If this is a not a HA pair

be in bmc>system console menu

Power recycle the controller and wait for the boot messages to appear on the console

I believe you will see the boot process now and option to enter special boot menu.

Not sure what is happening, suggest to open a a tech case with NetApp.
