Hi Guys, we have old Fas2020 in our lab.The login password was lost so i tried to go in the special boot menu to reset the password. I am connecting through a serial cable. I tried doing a power on/off several times of the netapp but it is stuck at the BMC login prompt screen. I tried running the below commands in the BMC login and below is the output. Please help..

here is the solution from the Archive:
This affects all FAS2020, FAS2040, and FAS2050 systems.
Possible causes for BIOS boot failures are:
Loose connection of NVMEM battery
Dirty shutdown >>72+ hrs (depleting the battery completely) before powering
the system back on.
Improper DIMM replacement procedure
DIMM errors related to defective DIMM
DIMM errors related to memory control circuitry
Solution
1. Run the following commands in the BMC shell:
bmc shell -> priv set advanced
bmc shell*-> system reset backup
bmc shell*-> system power cycle
This will cause a dirty shutdown of your appliance. Continue? [y/N] y

What happens if you press ^D to leave BMC shell?

Can you try to ping the main IP,
Try ssh/telnet are you getting a login prompt?
