Need Help on NetApp Ontap 9.5SP1 [VMware] / Hardware Raid 6 [Cisco UCS240M5]

Hi Experts , I need your help regarding our NetApp infrastructure.

We have a NetApp OnTap Select 9.5 on VMware
> 2 nodes HA Stretch Metro Cluster SDS (Network interlink 10GB with jumbo frame)
> 1 node per site separed by 6 Miles

> 1 Aggregates by Site (4 aggregates with plex1)

Plex: /aggr1_xxx/plex0 (online, normal, active, pool0)

Plex: /aggr1_xxx/plex0 (online, normal, active, pool0)

Plex: /aggr1_xxx/plex1 (online, normal, active, pool1)

Plex: /aggr1_xxx/plex1 (online, normal, active, pool1)

We added space by installing new SSD disks to our current RAID6 hosted by a Cisco UCS (6 SSD / 3.5TB)

The expanding process takes a while , more than 2 months 😞
Cisco Engeeneer has replied this is a normal beahavior when you add 20 TB.

Have you got any inputs to improve the processes on the second node and avoiding this uncomfortable situation ?

Can we use only 1 node for hosting the both aggregates (putting the both aggregates read and write) and rebuild the raid from scratch on the remaing node ?

Thank you for your help and support
Kind Regards

Putting all aggregate in one node is not a recomended solution fro Metrocluster SDS .

The Select VM uses VMDK  as Disk from Host datastore so its the Host vendor who should be responsible for its expansion .

I don't think we have any way to control that .
