Netbackup - Error




I have Netbackup 8.1.2, nothing change in our network side or the server.

The only that was change the Netapp policy as change to several's of policies with a different backup selection.

On the last 3 weeks i got an error on the backup:

1: (114) unimplemented error code

Usually, it's much faster to resolve NDMP related issues if you raise a ticket with the Backup Vendor, and once they have done their bit, they will involve the storage vendor.


In the mean time, you can refer to these two KBs. It could be generic or specific to your case. Looking at the process ID, it seems there are multiple jobs failure.


NDMP:NDMP_XDR_DECODE_ERR (Disable 'Collect True Image Restore' : See if this option set to 'on', turn it 'off' and run backup again) Don't worry about the product version.


NDMP backup fails with error: Message from Write Dirnet: Interrupted system call

If you wish you can attach the detailed netbakup logs and ndmp logs from the Filer and I can take a look.


You can also go to the SVM, volume and check : If there are any snaps lingering with 'busy' status, if not then it may be communication failures.  As you are using VERITAS Netbackup tool, it's must faster for Backup vendor to troubleshoot such errors.
