Good afternoon. There are remote NetApp devices that are not part of a cluster. Is it possible to implement copying snapshots from a NetApp appliance that is not part of a cluster to a NetApp cluster using SnapVault or SnapMirror.
The model of the devices in the cluster is FAS8300.
Maybe there are some other options(tools) to realize this task.

If they are using compatible ONTAP versions, i.e. 9.11 or so within a couple of versions, you should have no problem creating a SnapMirror. You just need Intercluster LIFs on both, a cluster and SVM peer and then snapmirror all snapshots. You can also snapmirror limited snapshots, aka daily, and keep an extended period of them.

You are required to add license, establish cluster peer, vserver peer, intercluster lif, ensure ontap version compatibility, and implement snapshot mirroring for all snapshots. The following is the snapmirror compatibility table.

Liu, you are correct, if the source is not part of their own cluster. If they are part of their own cluster, you can follow the table you presented to upgrade and then mirror. If not, NetApp XCP may be the tool to use.
