Did you install the VSS Hardware Provider on the Hyper-V hosts? There's two. There's a VSS Provider, and a VSS Hardware Provider. I had to install the VSS Hardware Provider to get backups working on Hyper-V in my environment.

Hi,
Sorry SnapProtect for Hyper-v on clustered OnTap with SMB3 is not supported yet, but I'm told it is on it's way.
SnapProtect SMB3 libaries are apparently supported or SnapDrive with SMB3 but not Hyper-V cluster backups on SMB3
