Hello,
I have a quick question. Do the array have any iscsi limits when establishing iscsi sessions? For example any limits related to the licensing, or limites related to the controler size?
I found the following articles, but I would like to double check that information and confirm that it is related to my e-series 2760 storage array:
1. ISCSI sessions limit: https://library.netapp.com/ecmdocs/ECMP1196793/html/GUID-671A1FF9-219E-4115-8FAC-8E3B1B1A04F6.html
Under the above link I can find: iSCSI sessions per controller or node - The recommended maximum number of iSCSI sessions that you can connect to a single controller. The general formula to calculate this is as follows: Maximum sessions = 8 * System Memory divided by 512 MB.
An the second article about licensing - enabling the iscsi license
https://library.netapp.com/ecmdocs/ECMP1368845/html/GUID-40D2EB15-C06A-474C-A073-142B8957EB11.html
Thanks in advance for the answers.
Regards,
Mat

For E-Series arrays like the E2700 there is no licensing restrictions. Note that the two documents you referenced are for FAS controllers not E-Series. Limits you may want to be aware of for the 2-port and 4-port iSCSI HICs:
Ports | 2 | 4 |
Max Queue Depth per Port | 2048 | 2048 |
Max Connections per Session | 8 | 8 |
Max Target Sessions per Port | 512 | 512 |
Max Target Sessions per Controller | 1024 | 2048 |
Max Target Sessions per Port | 64 | 64 |
