Use DE212C/DE224C disk shelf as JBOD?

Hello out there,

I am considering to repurpose old DE212C/DE224 disk shelfes from a E2800 system as a JBOD on standard x86 Linux/Windows servers with a SAS HBA.

Does anyone have experience with something like that?

Hi there!

Plenty of people have done it with the DS4243/DS4246 - I don't see there's a reason it wouldn't work with the DE212C/DE224C shelves, they are effectively the same as the ONTAP ones from a technical point of view.
