Hello,

Is this possible to use snapmanager on the the free Hyper-V 2012 R2 core version?

Im guessing this requires an install using powershell. But since this Hyper-V does'n't have a GUI, how are you able to manage snapmanager?

SnapManager for Hyper-V 2.0 is supported on Hyper-V 2012 core, you can execute a silent install on the Hyper-V host, once you install it you can have another server / client with SMHV UI installed which can be used to remotely monitor the Hyper-V core host ( by adding it as a host in the  SMHV UI console)

Thanks for the reply,  but i'v got one more question.

Most documentation also say that your required to install Snapdrive. Is this just a requirement for the Windows server Hyper-V or also required for the Hyper-V core version?

SnapDrive is required to be installed on the Hyper-V host (with GUI / Non GUI) where you have SMHV installed, SMHV is a requestor and the remaining backup activities at volume level are performed by snapdrive.
