SMI-S Provider end of life?

We're migrating our datacenters to Hyper-V/SCVMM from VMware and through this process we started using the SMI-S Provider with SCVMM 2022.   I noticed today that all easy to find references to SMI-S Provider are missing from the NetApp Support site...  They can still be found through search, but are all marked as "Legacy".

Given that SCVMM only supports SAN Arrays through either SMI-S or SMP, what is the plan moving forward for this, given how many orgs are moving away from VMWare and into Hyper-V/Azure Stack HCI as a solution?

Presumably the way to go would be SMB shares, but given that the SMI-S provider is still required to be able to add NetApp hosted SMB shares (No WSMAN on NetApp so the "Add File Share" option fails), this leaves me in a bit of a predicament.

I am looking for the same information. We are in the middle of our SCVMM 2022/Windows Server 2022 Hyper-V journey from VMware ESXi.

I found the documentation. https://docs.netapp.com/us-en/smis-provider/index.html

Download the PDF before it disappears.

I cannot locate the SMI-S Provider 5.2.6 download on the support site.

I checked the Interoperability Matrix Tool (IMT) https://imt.netapp.com/matrix/

SMI-S Provider 5.2.6 is listed [EVOS] with newest OS support as Windows Server 2019 and ONTAP 9.11.1.  Last Date modified: 30 June 2024.

It looks like we will be managing storage with our own custom scripts just like we did under VMware after VSC/VASA/SRA became non-compatible with our vCSA updates.

Wait for NetApp Insight 2024. There will be some news regarding SMI-S for SCVMM.

So, I went through the list of breakout sessions and anything that would have pertained to this happened today.  Haven't heard of anything relating to SMI-S at all yet though.
