mbralign on a FAS2020

I am doing some alignments on our current FAS2020 (ONTAP 7.3.2) and am only seeing around 3.08mB/s. Mbralign (v1.4) is being run on a vShphere host with no other VMs (as a test) over NFS (Gigabit) with the --sparse option. All examples I see are in the 55 mB/s or better range and was wondering what I should be looking for or is here a Netapp that we have limitation. Thanks
