Hi all,
reading at a recent copy of NetApp MetroCluster FAQ there's something not completely clear.
I read first:
SAS stack depth: 10 shelves per stack are supported, except if SSD is included in the stack. If SSD is
configured, the total stack depth is 4 shelves, of which a maximum of 2 (48 drives) may be SSD
shelves.
few rows later, I read
How many SAS shelves per stack can I have?
Answer: A maximum of 10 shelves per stack in Data ONTAP 8.1 and higher. Previously 8 was the limit.
An exception is where SSD is installed with the FibreBridge. In this instance, the maximum stack depth is
4 shelves, of which a maximum of 2 (48 drives) may be SSD shelves.
Well. Is this related to "pure SSD shelves" for all SSD aggregate or is this valid also for FlashPool aggregates?
So that, if I have in a stack a FlashPool aggregate somewhere the limit is 4 shelves for stack?
Regards,
