Hi,

My customer purchase a new A220 (SSD*24), he want to use ADP root-data not ADP root-data-data

1. Except usable capacity, have any concern for using use ADP root-data not ADP root-data-data?

2. Can I use command "setenv allow-root-data1-data2-partitions? false" to change A220 default setting from root-data-data to root-data ?

Has anyone have try this before?

Thanks

We have this KB article - https://kb.netapp.com/app/answers/answer_view/a_id/1030614/loc/en_US - which outlines the procedure, and yes, you have the correct boot arg.

But I'd strongly suggest you not use it on the basis of capacity efficiency - if your customer has purchased on the basis of a storage efficiency guarantee (where offered), this will void that agreement.

ADPv2 provides advantages by spreading the IO over more devices, as well as saving on parity and therefore increasing usable capacity - so in a 24 disk system, instead of using 4 disks for parity, you're using two.

Hope this helps!
