Hi,

We have old Netapp box FAS 3140. I have seen FC port name and FC node name. Where we use FC port name and where we use in FC node name.

I have seen Fc host adapter and FC host target adapter.

We have used FC host adapter to connect disk shelfs and FC target adapter for FCOE connectivity. Could we convert FC host adapter to target adapter ? If yes this process need a reboot to take a effect?

FC node name is the WWN of the FC card. FC port name is the the WWN of individual ports on the card.

Ex: In a 2 port FC card, it will have 1 FC node name (card WWN) and 2 port names (2 WWPN: 1 for each port)
