LDAP or SVM Tunnel authentication, what's the difference?

Hi folks,

Since some time, it seems that you can configure LDAP at the cluster level to enable authentication.

I was using previously the domain tunnel from a data SVM with AD authentication.

Does someone know the difference? Does Netapp provide any guideline about what to use or when?

Regards,

Jean-Christophe

This is my understanding..

LDAP at cluster level can be used to assign ldap client schema's to vservers...

You need domain-tunnel to access the cli via CIFS / AD Groups and run powershell commands..
