Hi folks,

we want to migrate our Fileserver with Solaris/samba to a Netapp solution with Cifs/Active Directory. Wenn i try to copy  Directories and files to the filer, we lost our acces right so that everyone could acces all files directories, hoe could we migrate the acces rights from unix to windows ?

Your samba server has NTFS permissions that you are concerned with or unix?

The access permissions will be there.  You may have to assigned the ownership via windows or unix by chown command.

wcc and fsecurity  tools help you to understand it.
