Hello,

I have currently a 2 nodes cluster AFF8080.

We have just received 2 nodes FAS8040 and 2 nodes FAS2552.

I would like to now if it's a good idea to add these nodes to the current cluster?

I tried to find infomration in the forum and all are poiting to Harware Universe but I' don't find my way for this specific question.

Can you pls help me?

You'll need to select your version of ONTAP. I just used 9.3P118080_9.3_1.PNG8080_9.3_2.PNG8080_9.3_3.PNG

In HWU look for the "Platform Mixing rules",  you'll be able to see what other platforms can mix with an existing cluster based on model and ONTAP version.

It also might be good to have a conversation with the account team just to discuss data layout for performance reasons to ensure you don't run into problems down the line.

With the FAS2552, The max size of the cluster for NAS or SAN will be 8 nodes. For a tiered platform they are all acceptable. As stated Hardware Universe "Supported Platform Mixing"
