Hi - I am staging a new Netapp 3270 with Chelsio Dual 10gig nic connected to an HP 5406zl - but after upgrading from 7.3.5.1P1 to 7.3.5.1P2 and rebooting I am getting no link on any of the 4 ports on the 5406zl side.
(I'm not sure the upgrade was the culprit, but its one of the last changes before the link on all 4 went down) - previously we had link
When I bring up the nic with ifconfig e1a up, the status changes to auto-unknown-enabling for a few seconds, then auto-unknown-down)
Netapp:

Should I try swapping out the tranceivers?
The weird thing is I was getting link earlier in the day and the switch was logging up and down entries when I was bringing netapp vifs up and down during testing - but now nothing - the link is stuck DOWN on the 5406zl.
Anyone seen this after going to P2?
We've tried disabling/enabling, reseating fiber connections - still no LINK.
Thanks for any tips!

If you do a sysconfig -ca or a sysconfig -v are you seeing the correct cards being reported? Do you have light coming out of the cards?
na03> sysconfig -ca
sysconfig: slot 1 OK: X1107A: Chelsio S320E 2x10G NIC
na03> sysconfig -v 1

e1b MAC Address: 00:07:43:07:71:1c (auto-unknown-down)
I need to do the "unplug fiber and shine on white paper test at the switch end" test
thanks!
Have you tried to boot back into P1?
Just downgraded back to P1 and the link is BACK!?
Why would P2 affect this? - no networking related items in the notes I can see
The new 3270 shipment came with 2 different models (AVAGO & Finisar) - we installed 4 AVAGO in the Chelsio card and 4 Finisar in the c0a + c0b x2 interconnect
Turns out it was not compatible - they needed to be swapped
Once they were swapped - LINKS UP!
Back to P2 and we are all good for the upgrade to proceed...
Moral: not all transceivers are equal - check them!
thanks
