Hi everybody,

I've got a little problem with filerview. After copying our root Volume to a new aggregate and changing the root flag, we're not able to see any Images at filerview just ugly red crosses.

Hope anyone can help

Have you rebooted (or performed a failover/giveback in the case of an HA-pair) yet?  This limbo state may be confusing the system.

Not sure if this is the cause, but it's feasible.  I typically don't leave controllers in this state for very long.

I have seen this before Usually filerview breaks after moving root and it is related to SSL... just reset ssl for filerview.  I have never seen a burt on this but always rerun ssl to fix it when migrating root

securadmin disable ssl

secureadmin setup -f ssl

secureadmin enable ssl

It should be fixed...

Just thought you hadn't rebooted yet... the ssl not working issue I notice is after reboot...so this won't help prior to reboot since it won't affect the new root volume.

Hi,

first of all thanks for helping me. Yesterday I were at my customer and we tried rebooting the System and resetup ssh but nothing worked. Now we've opened a case cause I really don't know what else I can do. It's pretty funny or maybe a little bit spooky , when I enter the hole path for example /naadmin/Images/filer.gif I get the image.

Let's see what the support team can do for us

I had this exact issue recently! After opening a case, NetApp gave me the following instructions...

> options httpd.admin.enable off

re-install Data ONTAP & reboot the filer

> options httpd.admin.enable on

For me this affected both http and https, so wasn't an SSL issue. This fixed it for me though.

Oh damm,

I hope the support team have another solution for me. This sounds like a lot of work.

I will update the thread when the issue is solved

Did you happen to set the correct path for the Filer View ? Has the new root volume named apart from vol0 ?

I remember you need to change the path to the http for Filer View to work.

But yeah, re-installing the Data ONTAP will fix it without doubt.

I had this issue when i renamed the root volume.

Had to reboot without doing a failover and everything came good.

Is there resolution to this without OS reinstall?

Well this is a very old thread and at that time we never had options. I would suggest if you don't wish to perform the re-installation of OS you can consider using OnCommand System Manager.

However, if you still wish to use FilerView you can try to perform a cf takeover/giveback. At times even that is fixed the issue for me in past. You however, have to check for the default root.dir path. It points to XXX. You can manually change it to /vol/vol0/etc.

Thanks!

I did just that, one one system root.dir.path change to XXX and when change manually it worked very well.

On the second system after cf giveback the path was /vol/voot_org/http. I change it to new root volume and the icons are still not populating.

They are on the filesystem under images directory, but I cannot get to them with direct http path (on working mode I can)

I did cf takeover/giveback to make new root volume active, do you suggest another one

Well if you already tried once then 2nd time I don't think will help either.

Probably you can try to re-install the ONTAP image and then do the cf takeover/giveback. That should fix the problem.

By re-install I simply mean to perform an ONTAP upgrade to the same version.
