Reboot needed after change of an option

Ontap 8.1.1 7-mode, I want to change the option:  disk.target_port.cmd_queue_depth from 256 to 8 on a V3270 filer (serial: 200000694455). Do I need to reboot the filer or perform a takeover/giveback to activate this or is it activated after I entered the command?

option disk.target_port.cmd_queue_depth 8

Carsten -

There's no mention of reboot needed on the man page:

disk.target_port.cmd_queue_depth
Sets the maximum number of concurrent commands that can be dispatched to any target port on an external RAID array. This is useful on V-Series systems, which support large numbers of LUNs behind a single device ID. If too many commands are issued the overall performance of the external RAID array may be degraded. A value of 0 indicates that no limit is enforced on any target port.
