Reducing size of root volume

Hi all,

Im having a Netapp FAS3050c.

I would like to reduce the size of root volume which is of type traditional.

Plz help .

From the docs, it seems that we cant do this.

Though is it possible using any way?

There's no way to shrink a traditional volume per se (that's part of the reason for aggregates and flexible volumes). You could however make a new volume (whether traditional or flexible) and move the existing root volume over....fairly comprehensive steps here.
