Restoring data back to a primary from a secondary

Hi,

A remote server that we backup using Snapvault has suffered a power supply failure.  Fortionately, the data was backed up to our SAN using Snapvault and has since been made available to the users by advertising it as a CIF share.  Once the remote server is back online, can the changes made to the data shared on the SAN be re-synced back to the remote server?

What OS is the remote server? Does it use the OSSV client? Will the remote server still contain data once it comes back online or would all the data need to be restored from the SAN?

The remote server is a Windows 2008 R2 machine and uses the OSSV client.  The server will still contain data when it is brought back online, however, this data will be out-of-date and unchanged compared to the backed up data that was made available by the filer and since changed by the users.

You should be able to use the "snapvault restore" command to use the most current snapshot on the filer to copy the data back to the original. It might do a complete restore instead of a baseline though unless the OSSV database is still intact on the server and can match with what it sees on the filer.
