Should we use volumes or qtrees to export file systems?

Please let me know advantages and disadvantages respectively.

One adv that I can think of will be quota, if I use qtree.

I am looking forward to hear some more about why should we use qtree over volume to export Fil System. And would that make any differences in CDOT?

There's no correct way. There are some advantages on 7m when using qtrees. One of them is ofcourse quota, but also ability to replicate with snapvault and qtree snapmirror. Also if you are planning to use more than one LUN per volume (FC or iSCSI) it's better to use qtree per LUN. 

On cdot you don't have that many advantages when using qtree over volumes.
