Silence failed disc stil being present message

Hi,

I have a failed disc in a filer, it's replaced by a spare so all is good. The filer is now logging a message each day that the disc is still there "is still present in the system and should be removed. ".  I know the easyest thing is to actually remove the disc but I can't  / don't want to / it's a long story.

Question is, is there a way to silence this message for this disc / entirely?

Regards

Jappe

Hello,

Have you tried to change ownership of the disk and put it as an unassigned?

or run command disk remove <disk_name> to spin it down?

maybe it helps

hi

thanks!

disk remove 0d.01.23

did nothing new

disk remove_ownership

Disk ownership change request failed on disk 0d.01.23 (S/N PAGR69SD). Status: 3.

The disk remains in

admin failed    0d.01.23

I guess I just should remove this this one way or the other 😉

Hi,

Try

>>>Vol status -f

--- If you are unable to see the Disk and it is not present in the below command as well.

>>>Vol status -s

---If your disk is not available here too,

Then try

>>>disk show -n or disk show <disk id >

--- mostly you will get the disk not owned status over here...

Assign the same back to storage array.

>>>disk assign <disk id>

---after this cross check in again with disk show <disk id > , and it will come under storage | spare pool.
