Hello,
I have a DR filer running DOT 7.36 and my source filers are running 7.33 , I am having issues initializing the snap mirrors. Is there any issues having different OS versions ?
Any help would be greatly recieved
Kind regards John
7.3.3 and 7.3.6 should be compatible w.r.t. SnapMirror. If you describe your issues in more details, someone may be able to help.
Hello
Thanks for your reply
I have two volumes , same size on each filer. One the source I have added
the DRFiler ip to the snapmirror allow file. However the snapmirror still
fails

1. can you ping source controller from destination?
2. what's the output of "options snapmirror.access" command?
Hi
I can ping the source filer from the destination filer successfully. See
output below from snapmirrror command
drfiler2> ping 10.136.191.5
10.136.191.5 is alive
drfiler2> options snapmirror.access
snapmirror.access legacy

OK just to confirm everything :
For Volume SnapMirror
a snampmirror licensed on both controllers?
b options snapmirror.enable on for both controllers?
c options snapmirror.access set to legacy on source with an /etc/snapmirror.allow file containing destination's IP address (ie 10.136.191.5) ?
d destination vol created and restricted ?
e on destination run: snapmirror initialize -S source:source_vol destination:destination_vol then fails?
d verify with snapmirror status
If you open a CLI to both source and destination you will receive different messages which may help to troubleshoot this.
