What is the networking term to describe the connection for (cable+port)?

In Networking world, people usually use a term to describe the connection, cable + port, do you guys know what am I looking for?

It's not point or pin, but something similar...

I've spent all weekend asking friends and trying to work out the term you mean - interconnect or uplink was the best we could guess. Connection would be the term I would use.
