Hi there,
I am in the process of configuring snapmirror for the first time. We are using ontap 7.3.3 rc1.
It looks to me that a snapmirror.allow file and options snapmirror access does the same thing.
Should I use one or the other or just specify my hosts in both places? What is best practice?
cheers

They do the same thing so it's mostly a matter of preference. There is a limit of 255 characters in the option value and you won't have to maintain a file which some people prefer. Personally, I prefer the file.

By default the options takes preference. I also noticed that the default setting of snapmirror.access is set to legacy.
Does Legacy basically means use snapmirror.allow?
Cheers

Yes. That's how it works.
