why cannot change ssh service port to user define port

I have a financial customer

They have to change default ssh service port to user define port.

I confirmed that I could not change the default ssh port.
But I could not find the reason elsewhere.

And I tried to change it using the system services firewall policy command, but it did not work.
I wonder why this command exists.

I want to change ssh default port to any port what I want.

Is there any ways to change?

Hi there!

This is no longer a supported feature. There is no way to turn off the identification banner, which makes "hiding" the port a minor roadblock at best.

Have a read of this article on why you shouldn't change the SSH port - https://www.adayinthelifeof.nl/2012/03/12/why-putting-ssh-on-another-port-than-22-is-bad-idea/

Thanks!

Thanks.

It's perfect. It is an information what I want.

You're welcome!

It was supported under 7-Mode for a small number of versions, but the functionality was not brought forward into Clustered ONTAP due to complexities of implementation and low use.
