Data Migration

Hi Gurus,

I have customer that is upgrading from a  FAS3140 to a FAS3240. The data composition is VMWARE, Exchange and SQL. My "million dollar" question is, what is the best method of migrating the data from one filer to the other while maintaining data intergrity?

Any suggestion/comments are welcome

The easiest way - just connect old shelves to new head. Then all data is immediately available.

If you will be replacing disk shelves as well – SnapMirror, vol copy, ndmpcopy from old to new filer. SnapMirror allows incremental transfers so downtime is minimized; others require source be offline (no data changing) for the whole duration of copy.
