FAS2020 and APC UPS interaction for shutdown

Hello folks, a customer is asking us if our FAS2020 can work tight with APC UPS software PowerShute, in order to configure an automated storage shutdown. If is not compatible, which UPS vendor can be recommended to do so? Thanks a lot.

Yes the fas can shutdown from the ups timeout setting.  The faq has a link to this kb which has an example warning time at 10 minutes and critical shutdown 5 minute time.  https://kb.netapp.com/support/index?page=content&id=3010916

Found the FAQ after years of not seeing it... ONTAP 8.0 and earlier only and APC is supported for those older releases.  https://kb.netapp.com/support/index?page=content&id=3011918&locale=en_US

Hello Scottgelb, as I understand what DataONTAP 8 and earlier can do was to shutdown the storage when it detected a low battery status of the UPS. But the question is if the FAS can follow orders from the UPS to shutdown. I don't know if it's possible.

Thank you.
