8.1.1 7-mode question

Hello everyone,

I have installed 8.1.1 7-mode simulator as a VM on ESXi 5.0 with Qlogic 8152 CNA.

When I make CNA as pass-through using Vsphere, it is available to VM as a direct PCI device.

From Netapp Oncommand manager, I don't see corresponing entry in FC/FCoE Adapters being listed. (attached screen shot)

Can someone help? thanks in advance.

According to the "Simulate ONTAP 8.1.1 Installation and Setup Guide", the simulator does not support FC connectivity. If you are just trying to test block devices you could always setup iSCSI on the simulator which will work just fine.
