Help! ONTAP 8.1.1x34 7-mode sim install problem

The sim in VMware Fusion loops endlessly on first-ever startup.  Seems not to be able to find the VMDKs that are its disk drives. 

Win7 VM was running when I installed this, is that a problem?

Mac OS X 10.7.5 on a brand new MacBook Pro with 256GB SSD and 16GB RAM.  Not likely resource constrained.

Any suggestions to make it work?

when prompted hit CTRL-C and use option "4a" to setup the SIM.
