Maximum number of concurrent NFS clients per NFS volume

Hi there,

Is there a limit on the number of clients that can concurrently mount a NFS volume on a filer? I know the number of socket file descriptors and/or number of privileged ports may be a concern on the NFS server side, but are there other hard limits I need to be aware of. For example, can 5000 VMs mount a single volume. I know there will be performance issues, but will the Netapp NFS server on the filer even allow so many clients to mount the volume in the first place? This is for NFS v3.

Thanks in advance for any hints you may have on this.

I'm not aware of any hard limit but I have NFS exported datastores that are being mounted by 30+ ESX hosts and FlexVol exports that are mounted by 20+ Linux hosts with no issues.
