Searching for files

We are on 8.1.2 and have been tasked with identifying users with "contraband" files, mp3's, videos, etc. that are against the rules. I was wondering if there is a way to search entire volumes instead of individual shares. I searched and found a post here from 2010 that asked the same question that is unanswered. Is there a way with this version?

Enable mandatory scan for the required extensions without connecting to a vscan server , all new file creations will be blocked .

For the existing files you need to search by shares or create a share at the root of the volume
