If I had a single SQL system with physical RDMs, I know I can backup the data on the RDM using SnapManager for SQL. Could I, though, backup the OS using VSC? I know products like Netbackup won't allow a backup using VMware if you have RDMs.
SnapDrive for Windows would be a better answer than using the VSC (which to my knowledge isn't supported on RDM). NetBackup is capable of backing up an RDM VM but as you stated not through the VMware policy but through a client install.
