Unable to ping storage array after ONTAP tools for VMware 9.8 upgrade

Not sure if anybody has ever come across the issue I am currently having but here goes.

Currently upgrading VSC from 9.7.1 to ONTAP Tools for VMware 9.8 and has upgraded perfectly fine on the DR site, can ping storage array in SRM and SRA showing as 9.8 but when doing the same at the Prod site and re-scanning the SRA Adapter after the upgrade, Pinging Storage sits at 50% progression then times out after 900 seconds so will not ping the array at all.

I can ping the array from each of the SRM/VSC appliances but it will not after re-scanning SRA. Everything is fine if I roll back to 9.7.1 and can ping array without issue, really starting to lose the will to live with it now 😞

Many thanks for your suggestions. The problem was caused by redundant cluster peering to non-existent storage arrays so deleted those, hard reset on the database for the SRA, re-scanned the adapter so that the redundant links were no longer showing in SRM and re-ran the upgrade successfully

Could this be a issue you are hitting - Combination of SRA database filled + storage command timeout settings (900sec in your case).

"The SRA database on one or both sites is filled with hosed items." If the number of hosed items is several hundred or higher, proceed with the solution in this article.

Change the storage.commandTimeout setting to 1200:

Also, I would suggest raising a ticket with NetApp.
