Upgrade VSC from 7.2.1 to 9.6 not gone right

I have recently followed this guide:

where I also did the vSphere cached downloaded plug-in packages cleanup.
After the upgrade on the VSC appliance, the plugin gets enabled in vCenter after about 5 - 10 minuts but it looks wrong:

The upgrade went without aney errors so I have no idea how to get it working properly again.

I have not seen this before so encourage you to open a Support case.

I have a similar issue with three independent VSC instances!

Restarting the HTML5 vSphere Client does resolve the issue for a few minutes.
