Yup, exactly my point.. Since everything is thin provisioned, what your seeing is the entire aggregate space at this point. It gets confusing with this. Just be careful b/c your obviously overprovisioned at this point.

I am getting sporadic wierd results with get-nccifssession and piping it to close-nccifssession. Half of the time, it works fine, and I checked close-nccifsession and it acceptions pipeline input from sessionID, but the other half of the time, I'm getting errors TerminatingError(Close-NcCifsSession): "Parameter 'SessionId' is mandatory for Data ONTAP 9.0 and up." close-nccifssession : Parameter 'SessionId' is mandatory for Data ONTAP 9.0 and up. At C:script.ps1:925 char:62 + ... {$_.windowsuser -match $user} | close-nccifssession -confirm:$false + ~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~ + CategoryInfo : InvalidArgument: (svm1:NcController) [Close-NcCifsSession], ArgumentException + FullyQualifiedErrorId : SessionIdRequired,DataONTAP.C.PowerShell.SDK.Cmdlets.Cifs.CloseNcCifsSession Anyone else seeing this? I'm using 4.3.

It's a beyond strange setup and not best practice. But I have no idea how your issue arises. Doesn't make sense to me Is it an App writing to the share with a local account.

Slightly confusing setup to understand because there is no Domain in play and there is no vfiler DR in play. I assume both those statements are true, correct?

Interesting... if I think this thru, volumes make up the committed size.. That would be sizeused within the aggregate. I'm going to keep digging to see if there are cmdlet's that explicitly do what you ask for.

if your time is within 5 minutes you need to type cifs resetdc if that doesn't work, you need to check the AD account to see if the machine account is messed up. and your max skew should be set at 2m

The first question I would have is are you having client access issues? And when you say you can't connect to filer, are you SSH'ing into filer with your domain account?

You lost three disks, not two. I doubt you lost three simulatenous disks at the same time so perhaps failed drives weren't replaced in time, hence why you lost three and the aggregate. Check your messages file and look for when the failed disks failed.

This looks like 7-mode box with 3 failed disks in a raid-group which means you lost the aggregate. You need to call Netapp support if that is the case, and they might be able to help you recover with a wafl iron.

I hated protection manager. I know some people loved it, unless you got hit by 'reaper', which was dbreaper and it would wack relationships. I tend to find the new solution adequate. I hear your rant, but things are getting better. I'm telling you, i still miss performance advisor, but life goes on. And I tend to disagree, the UI on 7.x is great.
