Community - There's an old post on the PS toolkit, here: http://community.netapp.com/t5/Tech-OnTap-Articles/The-Data-ONTAP-PowerShell-Toolkit/ta-p/85933 It refers to sample scripts, here: https://private-communities.netapp.com/community/products-and-solutions/enterprise-applications/microsoft-applications-and-databases But it's a broken link now. Where can I find sample scripts now ? At your service, Eugene E. VNNAVAR - There's no hack around it I know of. The old 7-sims were limited to 28 disks, and only up to 1GB sim drives. I'm happy they let us have so many bigger disks on the new sims ... KIIKANZAVANNA - Listing the 'exact steps' to add your new nodes could fill a book ! The additional HA pair needs to be cabled in to cluster, data, and mgt. networks. 3rd and fourth node - they're a pair. You do a 'cluster join' command to join the new nodes to the cluster. Yes, you want to disable '2 node HA' on the cluster before the join: cluster ha modify –configured false This doesn't disab;e the storage failaover (sfo) with the existing pair. It does change the cluster quorum rules. I hope this response has been helpful to you. At your service, Eugene E. Terry - Using the same subnet shouldn't be an issue here. We do it in our NetApp class labs regularly. LIF setup should be split between partner nodes for HA failover. Windows should be using ALUA for MPIO. BCP is to install the NetApp Host Utility Kit (HUK) for Windows. You may want to use the NetApp DSM (Device Specific Module) instead of the default Windows DSM. The 'vserver iscsi session/connection' commands are useful for verifying the session connections from the cluster side. Host use of Link Agregation is not BCP - If LACP hasn't configured the ports before you try to access the LUN ... ? Sabarnadeb - With regard to cloning the terms base/backing snapshot may be used interchangeably. It's the snapshot from witch the inode for the clone has been copied. A 'LUN clone' operation results in a 'Flexclone LUN'. A LUN clone operation clones the LUN within the same volume. A volume clone operation creates a new volume - a clone of the original volume. This would include all LUNs, or in a NAS environment all files, that were in the source volume. Wish I could show you the whiteboard I do in classes when I teach cloning ! Aswani - There isn't any specific Android support that I'm aware of, but support for multiple programming languages. If it was me, I'd use https for authentication and API calls. There's a bunch of sample code in the various languages supported that are included in the SDK. Tony - Max RAID size for SATA/NL-SAS is 20 disks.(Default is 14 disks) Max aggr size is 120TB. Max Flexvol size is 60TB. An aggregate can have multiple RAID groups. Max aggr size of 120TB is about 32 data drives with the 4T spindles.(depends on drive model) 2X18 disks would have 4 parity and 32 data disks. I'd be more conservative and use 3 RAID groups of 12 disks - 6 parity and 30 data disks. You still have a max Flexvol size of 60T with the FAS25XX. There's an internal document that's very informative - The Storage Subsystem FAQ. You can ask your NetApp SE to share it with you ? I hope this response has been helpful to you. Richard - Yes, the context of whether an API call is made (Cluster or SVM) matters. There are other instances I've found where API docs don't match the actual APIs.
