I will try upgrading to 8.0.2P3 (if not already on a 8.X code) and check for any change in behavior. FAS 6080 is going to be definitely faster but I am hopeful that there will be some other workaround.

Please refer to system administration guide available under below now URL for the version of ONTAP that you are running. http://now.netapp.com/eservice/Documentation.jsp If I were you I will try below steps 1) Disable time sync options timed.enable off 2) Update the time servers options timed.servers server1, server2 Ensure filer can resolve hostname for NTP servers above 3) enable timed timed.enable on 4) Check the time on the filer by date command and also timezone command to verify the TZ configuration Also note that if CIFS services were configured and if there is more than 5 minutes difference kerberos authentication mechanism may fail. Can a filer be configured to have cifs registered with a windows AD domain and the filer configured to join another LDAP server?.Do you have a similar config? Thanks.

I would try adding a new share and try to access it from a windows client >cifs shares -add rootshare /vol/vol0 >cifs access rootshare everyone full Once the file is copied remove this share as it has everyone/full access.

VSC can do provisioning, Cloning , Backup and Restore + all Host Utility Kit (HUK) for ESXi is included (can also download mbralign tools). https://kb.netapp.com/support/index?page=content&id=3010228 It is highly recommended to install VSC in ESXi environment as it can help to prevent FCP partner path IO issue (HUK functionality).

I got my answers, probably the LUN just created and not mapped to host ; that is no I/O to LUN ; so the counters refered for the alignment status does not have data to report the correct status.

You might have a install support included, there used to be a number along with the delivery where you can call and schedule a onsite install. If not ceretain please ping the NetApp sales rep assisted on this purchase. Do you have existing SAS shelves in your environment? DS4243 can not be mixed with a stack containing DS2246 Also please ensure the shelf ID is correctly set if you are hot adding to a existing SAS stack, if not there will be shelf ID conflict and you might end up needing reboot of affected shelf to clear. There can be maximum of 10 SAS shelves per stack. Ensure you have the latest version of IOM FW installed (sysconfig -a will display compare it with what available for download on now site).As a best practice please keep this up-to-date with future shlef FW releases. Make sure the shelves are multipath cabled.

Currently they replicate between site A to site B using snapmirror async (bith site netwall 3140s) Now they want also to setup an additional replication from site A to site C and this site C is having a EMC storage. Are there any replication software/external devices available to do this job?

Please create a new mount directtory as a test on AIX server and try mounting on it. Still does not work, export with IP adress of AIX server , mount it on the new mount point and try. exportfs -u /vol/vol_name <<unexport current exportfs -io rw,root=IP_addr_AIX /vol/vol_name <<export with minimal option Also post the error message logged in /etc/message file, if any.

Make sure qtree security style is unix on filer. If not set it unix, re export and mount.
