Pls turn OFF the following option  in your Storage Systems.

nfs.per_client_stats.enable

cifs.per_client_stats.enable

Thanks Adai,

Have checked both those options and they are both off.

Is there anyway to identify and "kill" this process  on the filer that does not involve shutting it down ?

Richard

Hi Richard,

Are you using Performance Adviser 4.0 or latter which support client stats ? But AFAIK PA does not collect client stats more than 90/60 seconds. Also have you enabled automated client stats collection in PA/DFM ? If so what is the version of your DFM.

Hi Adai,

We are running OnCommand  Balance Version 4.0.0.1 and  OnCommand/DFM  5.0.1

autoClientStatEnabled is set to  No

Hi Richard,

AFAIK, these are things that trigger client stats. I don't know of anything other which triggers. I suggest you to work with support to nail down the issue.

Were you able to find a resolution?

Not as yet , not worried too much as I am about to retire that storage system

This is a late reply, but if it only happened once, there is no need for concern. If it is repeating, you can reboot the Balance VA, and it should clear up.

If it continues after a reboot, please give support a call.

Peter
