OCI engineering is working this month on adding HPE Nimble support to OCI. If this is any interest to you and you would like to influence what we are up to, drop me a note at ostiguy at netapp dot com

Thanks

Hey all,

We now have a beta HPE Nimble datasource for OCI that adds inventory + capacity support. If you are interested in bringing your Nimble into OCI, ping me.

We are speaking REST API to TCP 5392 on the array, "operator" or higher user privileges work. "guest" do not appear to be supportable as guest level users don't have access to masking details on volumes

If you install OCI Data Source Service Pack 7, or upgrade to OCI 7.3.9 (which has SP7 built in), you will be able to successfully inventory Nimble 3.7.0+ firmware arrays, along with the Nimble 4.0+ firmware arrays we have been supporting for a few quarters now.

Nimble 3.x has some REST API differences from 4.0+, so we have had to work around some gaps, and implement some alternative approaches. With SP7, we are *not* reporting fibre channel mapping and masking for volumes on arrays running firmware X where (3.7.0 <= X < 4.0.0) , so you will not see OCI build paths to volumes. We have subsequently solved this, and can give you a post-SP7 datasource patch that reports FC mapping and masking for those impacted arrays.
