Anuj,
I cannot believe I missed this before:
smoke6-vsim-pbc7b6g*> snapmirror initialize -S smoke6-vsim-pbc7b6g:vol3 -w smoke6-vsim-pbc7b6h:vol3
You should be initializing from the destination.
Log into smoke6-vsim-pbc7b6h and run snapmirror initialize -S smoke6-vsim-pbc7b6g:vol3 smoke6-vsim-pbc7b6h:vol3
Initialize should be run from the destination filer.

Hi Anuj ,
Try to edit the conf file as
smoke6-vsim-pbc7b6g:vol3 smoke6-vsim-pbc7b6h:vol3 - * * * * *
Then run initialize command
thanks

Hi Ashwani,
Thanks for your response.
But this has not helped. Same problem still exists.

Anuj,
Did you change the serial number of one of the sims? The simulators have identical serial numbers and this breaks things like VSM on the sims until you change one of them to have a different serial number.

Hi Scott,
Thanks for your inputs.
But I have not changed serial nos on the devices.
I verified that both the devices have different serial nos.

Hi Anuj ,
Check last two things 1) if snapmirror is licensed on destination . 2) if you are able to ping destination filer ip from the source .

Hello Ashwani,
Yes I verified that snapmirror is licensed on both source and destination.
And I am able to ping the destination filer from the source.

Hi Anuj ,
The fractional reserve is 100 ? please remove this . Restrict the volume once again .Ensure the size of destination volume is => source volume .Run the > snapmirror initialize -S srcvolume destinationfiler:destinationvolume

Hi Ashwani,
Is fractional reserve the same as snap reserve?
If not - please guide how to modify it ?

Hi ,
One thing I missed that is your source volume has fractional reserve set to 100 .Please check if that is set to 100 then its fine to have on destination volume . Yes fractional reserve is different then snap reserve . Fractional reserve is used in SAN volumes to ensure space reservation for lun
