How can I trigger automatic AutoSupport messages when adding a new disk shelf to a system?

Hi!

I would like to configure my AutoSupport on my 6080 in order to send informative messages as soon as a new disk shelf is connected to it.

Is it possible?

Is it already the case? If yes, what is the subject of the automatically triggered message?

Thanks a lot for your help!

Cheers,

R.

So I guess if the shelf is added to an existing loop, an AutoSupport message will be triggered as soon as the MultiPath is broken in order to add the shelf.

In case of the creation of a new loop, there will be no AutoSupport message.

This one is hard to test of course but Im pretty sure that if you scan /etc/messages on the controller you ll see that new hardware

has been attached. I suspect ASUP will not be fired off as its not an error to add a shelf.

Hope this helps,

Eric
