General Discussion

Will the End of Flash Support in December 31 2020 affect NetApp ONTAP in any way?

NetApp_Journeyman

This is a rather pressing concern for us as we'll have to do emergency updates if that's the case.

Right now, our 3 main systems are on NetApp version 9.3, 9.4 and 9.1. We plan to upgrade eventually, but if the end of Flash support affects us we'll need to change our schedule

Please advise

Hello NetApp_Journeyman,

The end of Flash support will only have an impact if you still use OnCommand Unified Manager previously known as DFM version 5.x. The later versions of OnCommand Unified Manager 7.x & 9.x along with Active IQ Unified Manager 9.x do not use Flash therefore will not be impacted. If you require OnCommand Unified Manager 5.x to be in your environment then you essentially need to not upgrade your browser beyond what's listed in the Interoperability Matrix and you will have to isolate the server running OnCommand Unified Manager 5.x to avoid any security risks.

More details are documented in the following KBs:
