CIFS issues

Hi All

We have an application which writes lots of tiny files then deletes them in quick succession. This is randomly failing. Are there any options which have to be set to tell WAFL that this will be quick succession?

thanks

Hi I dont think this will be affecting us. we dont have full aggrs.

The exact issue is an application called Kofax copies a file to a cifs share then another server deletes the file from the share within about 2 seconds of it being put there. Sometimes these deletes fail causing batches to stop.

i wondered if it was re-arranging the block so could not be deleted as it was in use?

thanks

Assuming these are Windows hosts, you might try disabling opportunistic locking at the Windows hosts. OPLOCKS can be disabled at the storage side, but better perhaps to do it on the Windows side if only a couple of SMB clients are involved.
