Nick -
Perfstat is a very comprehensive tool for filere analysis.
It runs a comprehensive list of just about every config and perfomance command we'd want to see the output of if looking for a performance problem.
Configuration commands are also run on the client side.
The report includes pre and post test statistics.
You need to understand the output of all the commands to read the report.
There is a partner tool, 'Perfstat Viewer' that will help parse the output.
The quick shot tool I first pull out to look at performance is 'sysstat'.
My prefered tool for clients to monitor and analyze performance is using OnCommand Unified Manager.
You may wish to also look at the MyASUP feature on mysupport.netapp.com for historical performance graphing.
I hope this response has been helpful to you.
