I read the following commnet on traffic routing, but not able to understand. Can anybody please help me out, it sounds a very important concept.
Prior to 8.3, SVMs routed at a node level, so traffic could only travel via the node that owned a data LIF. In cDOT 8.3, traffic will route from the data LIF even if it is a non-local path.
If you can, please show me an example as for what can be achieve or what cannot be achive in cases of priro to 8.3 or 8.3
I thought data can be traveled across differnt nodes via local LIF, or LIF on another node, in any version of CDOT.

It speaks about outgoing connections (such as DNS, LDAP, NTP etc). Handling of those was changing between Data ONTAP 8.1, 8.2 and 8.3. 8.3 now can use LIFs on different nodes as "proxy" for such connections. Previous versions required that suitable LIF was present on node that initiated connection.
