Trying to clean off a disk shelf we need to remove and use elsewhere. All other Volumes have been moved, with the exception of the SVM root volumes. Can I simply use the 'Move' command in the GUI and do this non-disruptively like a traditional volume?

Yes, you can use vol move command to non-disruptively move SVM root volume like a traditional volume
